Sacred Expressions: Paint, Pause, Pray ~ Morning

This is a meditational event through the expressional form of painting. The participants will follow a pattern and start with the same subject, but have artistic freedom and flexibility. This workshop will allow time for contemplative prayer using silence, music, scripture, and sharing as each artist creates their masterpiece. Everyone is welcome to join and all skill levels are invited. During this unique form of gathering, individuals will be able to connect with others on a spiritual level while creating art. Participants will be invited to display their finished artwork at the annual Nativity exhibit. We hope this event creates an opportunity to gather as a community and express love for Christ through painting & reflection. No artistic experience is required.

SoulCollage® is a gentle, intuitive, creative process that involves creating small collage cards that participants use as a powerful tool for ongoing self-reflection, self-awareness and community building. Through the use of images, symbols, and pictures from magazines and periodicals and other sources, the participants in this workshop will engage in the reflective process to create collage cards, that they can use as tools for prayer, meditation & connecting with their inner spirituality or soul wisdom. As part of the workshop, we will integrate the labyrinth of Mary & Joseph Center. We will provide the materials – magazines, scissors, glue sticks, SoulCollage®cards, etc.

In the season of Advent, we wait. We wait in great anticipation for the arrival of the Christ Child, the baby Jesus, who enters the world fully human and fully divine. For many, it is the divine Jesus they know best, the Jesus of miracles, revelations and resurrection. In this workshop, we will explore the humanity of Jesus as seen through the eyes of his mother. Let us wait with Mary, inspired by images of her from around the globe, past and present. We will let those images help us to imagine the on-going relationship Jesus had with his mother, how she taught him, what he learned from her, how they might have laughed and clashed and loved in the messiness of a human mother/son relationship.

Please join us for our 16th annual Nativity Exhibit celebrating generosity, the Spirit of Christmas. Each year we consider different aspects of the Christmas story and the way it is celebrated. As we look at elements of the story throughout time and place, we learn how many have brought their own particular experiences to the celebration. Familiar figures and gifts may have their origins in earlier cultures, stories, and beliefs but they all become part of honoring the Holy Family and the first Christmas night in Bethlehem. *Remote Via Zoom* 9th Workshop on Emotional Sobriety. Who should attend? ALL who are interested in improving their life; especially those in any 12 Step Fellowship. Dr. Berger and Herb K. will continue to explore the 12 Core Principles of Emotional Sobriety. This powerful experience will give each participant an opportunity to look at their current quality of life from a fresh perspective. Transformation creates a new attitude and experience towards ourselves, others and Reality. This workshop explores a template for emotional growth helping us: discern and manifest our true self, identify our internal obstacles that produce our suffering, live with balance, humility, vitality and JOY, be the determining force in our own lives and a positive force in our community. Honestly ask yourself: What is the source of my current suffering? Do I have balance? Do I have a quality life? Do I have a sense of personal value, purpose and meaning? Attendees will experience a process for: Identifying the obstacles to quality living. Regaining balance after having lost it. Discover the path to personal authentic freedom. Fostering your life of authentic and VIBRANT relationships.
