5-Day Silent, Directed Retreat
Come join us on a special Silent Retreat that will give you time to commune with yourself and with your God. In the busyness of daily life, it is essential to find time to listen deeply to our own inner world and to discern God’s voice inviting us to intimacy. This retreat offers a unique, contemplative opportunity to commune with God in the solitude of our hearts. An experienced Spiritual Director will accompany you through these five days as you seek to discover the subtle movement of the Holy Spirit within you. Come deepen your relationship with God which will be enhanced by solitude, nature and a labyrinth walk.
Art Spirituality with Kintsugi
Art Spirituality with Kintsugi
Kintsugi …Making Broken Things Beautiful (or Mixed Media Kintsugi). Kintsugi is the Japanese tradition of mending broken things with gold and making the broken piece valuable again. I will teach a process using broken pieces of pottery, china, and glass and together make a decorative piece to lean against a window and catch the light shining thru. There are a few other mixed media ways to experience the process of kintsugi that we will explore. You are also welcome to bring a small broken treasure to restore. Kintsugi is a spiritual practice…but also fun! A satisfying, healing experience as the symbolism of making broken things new is carried on into our lives. No previous art experience is required.
