Kintsugi is the Japanese tradition of mending broken things with gold, making them valuable again. Kintsugi is a spiritual practice…but also fun! A satisfying, healing experience as the symbolism of making broken things beautiful is carried on into our lives.
You will learn the process of Kintsugi using broken pieces of pottery, china, and glass to create an assortment of Christmas ornaments that will delight your heart! We will also explore a few other mixed-media ways to experience the process.
You are also welcome to bring a small broken treasure for advice on how to restore it.
Beverlee Klopfenstein is a decorative artist who paints murals and glazes walls to make homes and sacred spaces – and hopefully the world – a more beautiful place. Beverlee will bring her creativity and love of doing art and share with you the amazing things that can happen in a soul when the hands are in motion painting or “making”. She leads retreats and classes Praying In Color, step by step painting, calligraphy and mixed media art, thru Experiential Ministries the non-profit founded by Mark and Beverlee Klopfenstein.
