Art Spirituality with Kintsugi
Beverlee Klopfenstein, Soul Care Artisan
Saturday, April 20, 2024 9:00am to Noon
Kintsugi …Making Broken Things Beautiful (or Mixed Media Kintsugi). Kintsugi is the Japanese tradition of mending broken things with gold and making the broken piece valuable again. I will teach a process using broken pieces of pottery, china, and glass and together make a decorative piece to lean against a window and catch the light shining thru. There are a few other mixed media ways to experience the process of kintsugi that we will explore. You are also welcome to bring a small broken treasure to restore. Kintsugi is a spiritual practice…but also fun! A satisfying, healing experience as the symbolism of making broken things new is carried on into our lives.
Beverlee Klopfenstein is a decorative artist who paints murals & glazes walls to make homes & businesses ~ and hopefully the world ~ a more beautiful place! Beverlee will bring her creativity and love of doing art and share with you the amazing things that can happen in a soul when the hands are in motion painting or ‘making’. She leads retreats & classes in Praying In Color, Kinsugi and related mixed media art, thru Experiential Ministries (www.exmin.org) the non-profit founded by Mark & Beverlee Klopfenstein. Extra supplies to journey on in the process are available for purchase if desired.
Cost: $50 per person (all materials included)
