MJRC Message regarding Covid-19
Dear Mary & Joseph Retreat Center Community Members,
Mary & Joseph Retreat Center is open for both indoor and outdoor meeting or dining activities, and we are following current State, County, and Archdiocese guidelines for health and safety. We have capacity available for groups to hold both one-day and overnight retreats. Please call (310) 377-4867 to check availability and learn more about specific guidelines.
Masking is not required in any indoor or outdoor setting, for vaccinated or unvaccinated individuals, though it is strongly advised for individuals with vulnerable health conditions. Individuals may choose to wear a mask when participating in any indoor or outdoor meeting or activity. Protocols are subject to change – Mary & Joseph Retreat Center may add a masking requirement if it is determined to be necessary to safeguard all participants or participants in specific groups.
Upon entering these grounds and while staying here, individuals are encouraged to be attentive to their own physical condition, self-assess, and self-attest to the following: (a) they are not experiencing any symptom of illness such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell; (b) they have not been diagnosed with COVID-19, and do not believe they have been exposed recently to someone with a suspected or confirmed case; (c) they are following applicable guidelines as much as possible to limit their exposure — and the exposure of others — to COVID-19.
During March, 2020 through January, 2023, Covid-19 considerably impacted our financial resources. We are funded mostly by income from our spiritual programs and guest services, as well as donations, which we greatly appreciate. We do our best to carefully steward our resources to keep our beautiful facilities and dedicated, hard-working staff here for you. If you are able to donate to help us, please consider making a gift now.
